Zero Day July 16

ZERO Day July 16

Weather stated it would be raining all day, 100% chance and 1.3 inches of rain so since we haven't taken a break in awhile we decided to take a zero and avoid the rain.  We found a truck stop to take a shower in and then took it easy for the rest of the day. On our way we saw a good size bear cross the street and just standing in someone's yard as we drove by.  We are seeing so many bears in NJ!

We were very close to a town Jen lived in when she was born, Schoolies Mountain.  We found the old General store she remembered going to when she visited the town with her parents when she was older.  It was neat to see it and see pictures inside it how it was long ago.

Walmart have become our go to hang out as they all have great internet and usually have trash cans so we can get rid of ours.  I also had a couple prescriptions to refill and they were able to!   We also found a alcohol package store as it seams you cannot buy beer anywhere and had a couple beers for lunch and dinner which we just ate at our campsite in the trailhead parking lot.

Talking about camping at trailhead lots, there is a lot going on at them.  A couple nights ago we were woken up at around 1130 to a car showing up and 2 guys quicking heading off to the trail in the dark with flash lights. They returned in 15 min or so and quickly left, ok back to sleep.  Less than 30 min another car shows up and 2 guys head off to the trail with flashlights and they also return in 15 or 20 min and hop in their car and leave.  Just what do you think is going on??   Today was great people watching, people coming and going and never walking to the trail. Some meeting and hoping in the others car and leaving for a few hours, hmmmm.

Quick mote about poison ivy, since we keep getting it, seams we should know how to identify it.  Someone at a trail magic told Jen that poison ivy will have a leaf that looks like a mitten and will not always have red on them.  The mitten leaf is the best way to ID it.
