So we slack packed again today, started early ar 6am to get a jump on the heat. It had rained hard overnight and the trail was slick and muddy.  It was also rocky but the muddy ground was much slippery than the rocks.
This was interesting, the trail from Valley Forge.

This was an old mining area.
This is mine subsidence, it is runoff from inside a mine and obviously not good to drink!

There was also a section that was flooded by a beaver dam and luckily someone had thrown large peices of wood/branches in so you  could kind of hop between them to get through, though our feet did get wet.
More terrain from today.

At the end Jen was hurting when she picked me up and she went to a quick care to get her knee looked at.  Appears some r and r is needed for her right knee which just so happens to coincide with Lindsey and Nick coming out to meet us at Hershey Park for a visit with the kids.  So taking an extra couple nights off right off tonight to hang with some friends taking a zero a few miles up the trail from us in Shartlesville, yes that's the name of the town!
