The day started off with a big breakfast at the Big Meadow lodge, all were stuffed. We didn't get on the trail till almost 9!
But that was fine as we didn't want to arrive at Skyland too early, they don't start serving lunch till noon! Here is a pic of the horse stables we passed on the way to the restaurant.

We arrived just in time to get seated for lunch and we both had a brisket sandwich with a beer. We are still hiking with our friends Snail and Allday who cooked up this eating our way through SNP plan!
Stuffed we headed off again towards where we would camp but on the way we stopped at a picnic area to get water and use the flushing toilets, so exciting on the trail. A whole bunch of other hikers came in and it was a chat fest.

And then saw a raven I think.
This is an old ranger station turned into a shelter or hut as they are called in SNP.
That's an old water fountain, guess they piped water to these back in the day, miles in the middle of nowhere, here is an old pipe.
I choose a flushing toilet too!
