We slack packed again today, Jen went north and I went south. We didn't look at the elevation gain in each way and Jen got the raw deal, day was pretty much all downhill for me but not her!

When I got done I was at the car and drove back to the other end to pick her up, its time consuming and confusing as the Garmin gps wants to take you on horrible forest service roads and Google maps doesn't woek when there isn't cell service!

We hiked past an area that long ago freed slaves built a community on and were share croppers.  The got relocated or kicked out when the land was sold to the government.

Buena Vista is a really nice quaint town, we found a great Italian restaurant and a great ice cream shop that gives free ice cream to hikers.  There is even a small college in town.
