Had a zero day yesterday, hung out with Laura and Paul, had a beer, took them shopping to resupply and did Troutville hiker dinner.
Got an early start and caught up to Laura and Paul, hiked most of the day with them which was fun.

Had storm clouds forming on both sides of us while walking along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Tried to make it to shelter before it rained but didn't make it, we stopped and put up just the tarp part of the tent and huttled under it till it stopped raining.

We then continued onto the shelter to get water as it was a long stretch without any water sources. It started to rain again when we reached the shelter. There was room in it so we stayed there for the night.

This was my awesome bear hang for our food.
We are at the 1/3 the way to Katahadin point!
Another type of pasture gate we go through.
Some great views on the trail.
This we think is part of the old Blue Ridge Parkway road.  We also are hiking along the road today.

Saw this cute lizard and an egg from some animal, what we don't know!
