Day 29 May 11 - Back on the trail
Day 29 May 11, Days miles 12.9 AT Mile 432.9
Hike time 7hrs
So with Allagash staying with Jens mom we drove south again to get back on the trail. Started at mile 420 so we can go to Trail Days in Damascus and catch up with some friends.
The terrain for the day included going over a large knob but the trail was pretty gentle with switchbacks and nice bridges.
Unfortunately was a long downhill walk and I started feeling my left knee, like the hike down out of the Smokies, hmmmm.
Had great Trail Magic at the Lake we walked around before setting up camp, and at the end of walking around the lake was a dam.
While going around the lake, I stepped on a snake, we think a black rat snake. Yes I jumped and let out a yelp!
We ended the day at 13 miles because my left knee was talking to me and best to listen! Just before setting up camp we met some hikers and their parents past the dam where we Camped and had a beer!

We stayed in Marion VA and left our car there and got shuttled to mile 420.
There was also a great waterfall early on in the day.
