Day 8 Apr 9, Days miles 12.9 AT mile 44.1

So on Apr 8th we hung out at Blood Mt camps and waited out the rain, it poured all day.

We then headed out really early so we could try and make some miles as the first. 2 days were to be cooler.  We did just under 13 miles which is awesome for Alli.

Met a hiker from Stitzerland, Marcel who was interesting to talk to. Meeting so many people from far away.
Had trail magic at Tenatee Gap with Tanya and Stan the Man and her dog Zoby. 
They brought and served Easter meal!  Met a couple from TN hiking with their dog too.

Stopped at Low Gap shelter for a break and met a 70 year old man hiking the AT, just amazes me!
We stayed at Poplar Stamp Gap campsite, it was quiet, just us.
Hiking Hours 9hrs 630 to 330

Day 51 June 6 Days miles 15.1 AT Mile 802.3 Stayed at Inn Hiking time 6hr Pass plus/minus: +6 Critter Rescue -  2 Total Deer seen - 2 today, 23 total Today Jen and I slackpacked which is hiking without all your gear, all we carried was water, snacks and rain gear, so super light.   We see a lot of hikers doing this and we figured why not try it.  Doing this we had to hike alone in opposite directions, I left her at the northern end to hike south and I drove to the last place we stopped on the trail yesterday and hiked north. When she gets to the car she comes and picks me up. Was a pretty standard day for me hiking, it was more about seeing how my back felt hiking without weight on it.  Jen did get to see the dog Huckleberry and his human HH which was exciting for her.
